What is the IPDX?
The IPDX is a proprietary stock index comprised of stocks of companies with strong patent portfolios. The constituent stocks and their weightings are as shown in the table below.
Index methodology
IPDX v1 is a fixed-basket, USD-denominated price index with a base value of 100 on 2025-10-27. The 15 constituents and their published weights are frozen from that date. Published rounded weights are normalized to 100% for calculation.
Japanese closing prices are converted to USD with European Central Bank reference rates. The latest prior close and exchange rate are carried across source holidays. The series is intentionally not backfilled before the first verifiable constituent record, which prevents current constituents or weights from being applied with hindsight.
